The award for best athlete of the year was named in memory of Richie. He was being scouted by the major leagues as a catcher in baseball and was an outstanding soccer player.

--Roseanna DiStefano (2009)
Roseanna Passed away May 6th, 2009 at Sloan Kettering Hospital IN NYC. She fought a valiant 3 year fight against Breast Cancer, but ultimately the disease won. She is survived by her husband of 17 years William Darrow, and her 13year old daughter Gabrielle. She will be greatly missed! Love you sis!
